Rental Terms and Conditions
General Terms
Supplier reserves the right to refuse or cancel booking at any time if you do not meet renting requirements.
Please ensure that the driver's credit card has sufficient funds available.
A valid driving license and passport must be held from all drivers.
All additional drivers must meet the same licence requirements as the main driver. The first driver is included in the rates but a daily charge for additional drivers may apply.
Airport shuttle service will be available and free of charge, within normal office hours, for all stations located outside the airport perimeter.
Vehicle must be returned at the pre-arranged rental station, until the expiry of the rental period and should be returned in the same condition as when rented without missing fuel, additional equipment and/or parts, with normal wear and tear excepted, to avoid additional charges.
The vehicle is covered by roadside assistance for any mechanical faults. If the call out is due to driver negligence, for example lost keys or running out of fuel, the renter may be charged a breakdown call out fee.
Your reservation will be considered as NO-SHOW if you cannot be present on time at the station to pick up your car without prior notice. In this case, a no-show fee may be applied.
Local tolls or highway fees are charged to the driver and paid on the spot.
Smoking is prohibited in all OtoQ vehicles.
Restricted Roads / Areas of Use
Driving on dirt roads, off-road terrain, sand, or through water is strictly prohibited. All our vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers (see our Privacy Policy for more information). Please note that no insurance policy covers any damage resulting from off-road driving. In the event of such use, a penalty of €300 will apply, regardless of damage.
Optional Items / Extras
Special equipment and optional extras may be requested at the time of booking or at pick-up, but are subject to availability and may change without notice.
Traffic Infringements & Fines
The renter is responsible for any traffic fines such as speeding, parking, or toll violations during the rental period. The supplier may charge an administration fee to handle such fines.
Age Rules
The minimum age to rent is 18 years and the maximum is 85 years. A valid driving license must have been held for at least 1 year.
Drivers under 21 years of age are subject to an additional fee of 10€ per day, up to a maximum of 100€.
Drivers over 65 years of age are subject to an additional fee of 10€ per day, up to a maximum of 100€.
Mileage Policy*
- Rates include unlimited mileage.
*To ensure the quality of our vehicles and services, OtoQ has implemented a fair usage policy. Excessive or abusive usage may result in penalties.
Fuel Policy
Same-to-Same Policy: Your vehicle will be supplied with a specific fuel level. You must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel. Missing fuel will be charged along with a refueling fee of 20€.
One-Way Rentals
Permitted with 48-hour prior notice. A one-way fee will apply.
Driver License Rules
All drivers must have a valid license from their country of residence. Licenses printed in non-Latin alphabets must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit or certified translation.
The license must be valid for the rental period and held for at least 1 year.
Additional proof of identity and address may be required.
Amendments to Bookings
If you experience delays, you must inform the office before your reserved pickup time.
No refunds will be given for early return, unused rental days, or vehicle downgrades.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing. Phone cancellations are not accepted.
Cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup: full refund.
Cancellation between 24–48 hours before pickup: 50% refund.
Cancellation less than 24 hours before pickup: no refund.
Refunds may take up to 30 business days to process.
Out of Hours Service
Available on request. Additional charges apply for pick-up or drop-off.
Additional Driver
Must meet all renter requirements. Additional drivers may be added at any rental branch. Daily surcharge is 5€, with a maximum of 50€. Maximum of 3 additional drivers permitted.
Late Return
Returns made more than 60 minutes late are charged a full day’s rate plus a late return fee of 25€.
Cross Border Policy
Cross-border rentals are not permitted under any circumstances for UAE rentals.
Damage Waiver (CDW)
Limits renter liability for vehicle damage under normal conditions (excluding violations or negligence). Deductible amount applies:

Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Collision Damage Waiver does not cover damage to tires, wheels, windshield, interior, undercarriage, mechanical components, or any damage from negligence, misuse, or breach of agreement. CDW is void if driving under the influence, unauthorized use, or off-road use occurs.
Theft Protection (TP)
- Deductible ranges from 1500€ to 5000€, depending on vehicle category. Contact bookings@otoq.rent for details.
Full Damage Waiver (FDW)
Optional product reducing CDW deductible to zero (under legal usage conditions). Does not cover glass, tires, undercarriage, or interior unless paired with WUG.
Stained interiors or excessively dirty exteriors may result in a cleaning fee (30€ to 150€). Driving off-road may result in towing fees.
Wheels, Underside, Glass Protection (WUG)
Available only if FDW is purchased. Covers wheels, tires, glass, underside, mirrors, antenna and other specified parts not covered by CDW/FDW, unless damage is due to illegal or negligent use.
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP)
Third-party liability protection is included, covering up to 1,220,000€ for bodily injury or death and up to 1,220,000€ for third-party property damage.
Deposit
A credit card hold will be placed for the estimated rental cost plus up to 100€. This amount will be unavailable for use until released by the issuing bank (may take up to 30 business days after return).
Only credit cards are accepted for deposits. Cards must be in the main driver’s name. Debit, prepaid, or virtual cards are not accepted.
Forms of Payment
- Accepted: Visa and MasterCard (Credit Cards only)
- Not accepted: Debit cards, prepaid cards, virtual cards
Roadside Assistance
Provided 24/7 at no charge for mechanical faults. For driver-related issues (e.g., lost keys, flat tire), the renter may be responsible for towing or assistance fees.
Renter Requirements
Drivers must have held a valid license for at least 1 year. For non-UAE license holders, an International Driving Permit may be required. Renters must check local UAE regulations before arrival. Additional ID verification may be conducted by the supplier.
